I’ve been handing out some real gems this week. You’re welcome.
Song of the day: “Midnight City” by M83
I tend to find it quite difficult to compile “All-time Best of” lists in regards to movies and music, tending to focus instead on what I think is best at that moment specifically. However, there is one band who will always be at the top of my list as favorite band ever: M83.
If you aren’t familiar, you should make yourself. This is the single from the new album out in October:
And, as a bonus, an amazingly beautiful promo vid for the album:
Song of the day: “Go Outside” by Cults
The official music video is pretty great, but gets in the way of the music at times, so I present to you the audio-only version. Enjoy it. You know you want to.
My poem “Woman at the Bar” published in The Huron River Review Issue 10
Good times: My poem “Woman at the Bar” was published in Issue 10 of The Huron River Review.
Now, typically that’s the end of this sort of spiel, when I announce such things, but this journal, which is published at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan (where I teach part-time), is just plain gorgeous—as well as award-winning—so I thought I’d include a few pics and let you know it’s available for $6 on campus, if you’re ever in the area.
